Stitched By Me

A place to share projects from my sewing room.

New Dresses

Each month I make a donation mini quilt for the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative Quilt a Month Club. These mini quilts need to measure 9×12″ or smaller and profits from the sale of these mini’s help to fund Alzheimer’s research .

For my September 2012 quilt, I digitized a dress design inspired by a photo that I came across online.  Here are the first 2 stitch outs:

I stitched out two more variations of the dress and then stitched all four of them together.

I added a thin upper border and a wider lower border which was then embroidered with the phrase “A Girl Can Never Have Too Many Dresses”.
I finished this in plenty of time to get it registered before the deadline, which is the 20th of each month.
